We got a taste of it earlier this week, but now Melissa McCarthy has sat down with Ellen and explained exactly how her husband surprised her with the Oscar nod.

Then we learn about her reaction, and it’s all just a very beautiful thing. Why? Because Melissa deserves the nod more than a lot of people, and we honestly weren’t sure if she’d get it since Bridesmaids is a comedy.

We’re so, so happy for her! And she’s just so sweet talking about it.
