This past weekend we went to Alabama to visit our friends Becky and Chace in Birmingham. We’ve been friends with them for about 5 years or so and we try to visit each other once in a while. Birmingham is only an hour and a half from Atlanta and we gain an hour driving there. Becky and I always joke around that it’s technically 30 mins away with the time difference!
Becky and I met through her etsy shop a while back and then started following each other on instagram, which then turned into emails and text and then visits! We are the modern day pen pals aka instagram besties. I think we met in person two years after being IG friends and then Logan and I went to her and Chace’s wedding which was AMAZINGGGGGG. I meannnn Chace had a helicopter land in the middle of downtown Birmingham so they could make their wedding exit. Talk about Fabulous AF! Becky and I are so similar- we love veuve, extra lemons with our water, pizza bagels, asos and good murals for blogger photos (the list goes on obvi). Her style is amazing- check out her IG! I don’t think there’s been a time when I haven’t laughed being around her.
Friday night we had a chill night and got pedicures with our boys 🙂 We went to grab some drinks and snacks at Babalu, which was amazing!! Their guac is to die for! I had no idea we have one in Atlanta so I will definitely check it out there soon and probably become a local. Afterwards, we went to have some pizza at a new place called Bird’s and it was so yummy and cheap! The pizza was $10, I was like is this just for a slice? So confused!
Saturday, we went to lunch at Melt for some grilled cheeses and they were SO YUMMY! Mine had a runny egg, ham, cheese and chorrizo. Deff check them out! They also had drinks but I figured I would hold off. Bonus– they have this cute angel wings mural and perfect for a photo opp!
Later that night we went to check out the new Elyton Hotel and have drinks and apps at their rooftop, Moon Shine. Moon Shine is SOOOO cute and the hottest place to be this summer. The views are amazing and the lounge area and drinks were great! The only downside is that there’s a wait since it’s so new. We had to wait in line for about 15 mins but grabbed drinks at the lobby bar while we waited. At Moon Shine, we tried the daily pizza special and then made our way to dinner. I had always wanted to check out Chez FonFon since I have read articles about it and because it’s French! The food was so delicious as well as the drinks and i fell in love with their steak tartare!
Details on my amazing top can be found here!
We finished off the weekend with Sunday brunch at Dyron’s. I strongly recommend their beignets and the Grilled Cheese BLT with a runny egg- yum yum! We had such a fun weekend as always but now it’s time to hit the gym and burn off all that cheese!
