Are golden goose worth it? It’s a question I get asked all the time on my Instagram. Like why would anyone pay hundreds of dollars on dirty shoes? Okay, I get it and completely understand how you feel! I was one of those people. Like who are these people with star shoes that are dirty and look worn? I never thought I’d own a pair, but here I am five pairs later. I wanted to write this blog post to talk about this obsession, share my favorite retailers that sell them at a discount and also share similar shoes at a lower price point.
So how did I end up with five pairs? I DON’T KNOW. I personally don’t love the dirty and destroyed look so when I was looking into buying my first pair I wanted them to look more clean, like new shoes lol. I found a discounted pair at Intermix and they were denim, so definitely super versatile. Once I put them on, I never took them off. I wore them DAILY! Not only do they go with everything, they are SUPER comfortable. In terms of sizing, I find them to run pretty true to size, I’m normally a 7.5/8 and wear a size 38.
I traveled to Spain earlier this year and I packed about 7 pairs of shoes. Well, I only ended up wearing my Golden Goose. As you know, Europe requires a lot of walking and Golden Goose were definitely made for walking! Socks or no socks, these shoes are like walking on clouds. You are truly paying for the Italian leather and comfort…and well of course the brand name. I’m sure there are tons of other affordable and comfortable walking shoes but this is the main reason they are worth it to me.
They seriously go with anything! I’ve styled them in so many ways! My favorite style is to wear them with dresses and go for that athleisure vibe. I also love that there are SO many varieties of designs. You can find all white ones, neutrals, glitter, animal print, bright colors, literally anything!
So to me, yes they are worth the splurge because I get a really good use out of them. I totally understand they’re not for everyone and it’s hard to justify the cost but just wanted to share my thoughts. I rarely pay full price for them and definitely do a lot of searching online to find the best deals. Here are my favorite places to shop for discounted golden goose: Cettire, Italist, FarFetch, Coltori. Shopbop and Intermix always have really cute exclusive designs but they rarely go on sale. Also, buying second hand is another good option! I recommend searching TheRealReal for Golden Goose!
If you like the look of Golden Goose shoes but don’t want to pay the price tag, here are some Golden Goose dupes that are super similar to the real thing!
Shop Here (lots of other designs too)
Hope you enjoyed reading! I know these aren’t for everyone but if you’ve thinking about it and find a good deal, I say go for it!
Thanks for the links to discounted ones! I’m trying to convince my husband that I NEED these dirty shoes! I’m slowly winning.
Thank you!!! hahaha
OMG! I have a pair of knock offs (broke college student paying tuition, lol) and I haven’t reached for them in AGES but these outfits are all so cute you’re making me want to go and break them out again. Where is that last tie dye set from?! So cute.
